Multiple Tooth Extractions
The removal of a couple of teeth is a fairly simple procedure. However, extracting multiple teeth requires a little more work. The jawbone needs to be shaped and removed to prepare for dentures. If you are about to undergo multiple tooth extraction procedures, there are a few things you should consider. Within two days of the surgery, you will experience the maximum amount of swelling both inside the mouth and possibly around the eye area as well. If the area around your eye becomes discolored, it can be alleviated by a warm compress. The muscles near the extraction site may become sore after surgery, resulting in a sore throat. This is normal as well because the corners of your mouth become dry and cracked from being stretched open during surgery. In most cases, you will have a follow up appointment with your dentist within 48 hours of the surgery. At this time, you should discuss any post surgery symptoms that you are experiencing with your dentist.
