A Panorex is an impressive piece of dental imaging machinery. It is capable of identifying many issues and structures that a normal X-ray cannot detect. Initially, a patient will sit in a chair with his/her chin on a small ledge. Once correctly positioned, the machine will rotate around his/her entire head taking a full 360-degree view of his/her teeth, head, sinuses and bones.
The ability to view the full structure of a patient’s head is very informative to the dentist. The Panorex is capable of capturing images of specific types of structural problems, infections or asymmetry. It will allow dentists to see any potential problems and make educated diagnoses and treatment plans.
